Yes. In addition to state-mandated training, our staff receive a wide array of training certifications and continuing education courses. As a matter of fact, the Orion Homes training program is so strong, other agencies send their caregivers to us for training.
WHAT IS YOUR POLICY IN DEALING WITH…
- Medications?
All medications are double-locked and are administered by trained staff in accordance with doctor’s orders through our eMAR system.
- Transportation?
An important feature of Orion Homes services is that transportation services are included. Our trained staff provide transportation to medical appointments, community outings and family visits. We never ask our residents to utilize taxis, buses or outside transportation companies. In addition, ALL Orion Homes vehicles have active GPS aboard to monitor the vehicle for its speed and the vehicles location. The safety of our residents is our constant focus.
- Smoking?
Smoking (and vaping) is allowed outside only. Our staff will follow doctor’s and guardian’s orders regarding access to cigarettes and number smoked per day.
- Internet & Cell Phones?
Access is available based on the individual treatment plan.
- Visitors?
Visiting hours are 8am – 8pm every day. Non-family visitors must remain in the common areas of the home. Guardians may establish a list of approved visitors. Access to the home by any visitor is at the discretion of staff based on the behavior of the resident and the behavior of the visitor.
- Personal funds?
Personal funds are administered based on the individual treatment plan. If requested, staff will maintain a resident’s personal funds in the home safe and track their expenses and receipts in an individual ledger.
Family outings? (Lunch, church, shopping)
Based on the individual treatment plan and at the discretion of staff, family members or other approved individuals may take residents on community outings. Overnight trips for birthdays, holidays or other special events will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
